Isabel Allende's Eva Luna.

This is possibly the most recently read of all my Isabel Allendes' because I'm always coming back and re-reading it. To get caught up once again in the powerful human emotions as well as the myth and magic that permeate this story. Taking in a diverse cast of characters and places , dropping in and out of time. The reader is swept along as Eva Luna recounts her story from her almost mythological conception and childhood in south America. Alternating the story with the childhood of her future husband Rolf in Second World War Austria with an abusive father.
The twin strands begin slowly to wind together as the war draws to an end and Rolf must confront both the return of his feared father from the army and the previously unspoken evil that the towns people have tried to ignore. When his father turns up dead one night he is forced to flee to South America when suspicion falls on him.
From there we watch as these two people come closer and closer to being united. Aside from the central characters there are plenty in the additional cast of characters whos stories stir the emotions . And whose quest for happiness is as beautiful as the central story they surround .

April in the month of April , Next month gathering nuts in may!

This sweet little thing right here is April daughter of shopping tycoon Cyril A MacDray and hence spoilt rotten here she models some of her new wardrobe.

Further notes from the world of Cutting Sprout

Mrs Moony is a "bit" of a Gin soak and keeps a water tower for her Gin in the back garden .The Arbathnot-Nut murders are locally famous. A series of little explainable murders at their ancestral home Arbathnot-Nut towers. When Mrs Arbathnot-Nut suddenly dissapeared Moony and Nito turned both detective and real estate agents to solve the crime and if they could make a little money and sell the house. But they soon found out just how hard it is to sell a house with "history". Moony however has her own way of making money by selling off those artifacts Howard never knew about on E.Bay . Many people of course believe that they are expert forgeries, if only they knew!
Nito however is much more staid spending her days trying out new and exciting recipes for Brussels Sprouts, Brussels jam did'nt go down very well and for most people it did'nt exactly stay down either but she has faith that she will one day crack the lucrative market for Sprout related delicacies. It only takes time. In the mean time dissuading the vicar from proposals of marriage takes up her spare time, that and her public services. Piano lessons at the church hall, teaching may pole dancing on the village green, standing for public office and a host of other things that have placed her at the heart of the local community .

Moony& Nito

Moony and Nito live in the quaint but undeniably weird village of Cutting Sprout somewhere in England. Moony was once king Tutankamun but due to the results of a lightning strike and a sex change she now lives as mrs Moony with her Brussels sprout obsessed friend from the W.I, Mrs Nito. Their lives are often intruded upon by the lecherous attentions of the local vicar, the Arbathnot-Nut murders, something out on the moors that rumour has it is a half sprout half man monster and WWII which no one in Cutting Sprout knows is over.
